Experience:
Game Design Consulting, 1994-present
Mpath Interactive, 1995-present. Evaluated potential multi-player game designs for use in an Internet online environment. Created design documents and specifications for products. One of which, WarSport, is currently in beta testing.
Interval Research, 1994. Researched, analyzed and offered design consulting on issues surrounding the development of games for girls. Suggested ideas that resulted in two products that will ship in 1997 from Purple Moon.
Game Development, 1982-1993
Designed and directed development of 12 original computer games for major publishers. Among them were 10 multi-player games and 3 online games. Also included was the first modem-to-modem game by a major publisher (Modem Wars, Electronic Arts, 88) and the first 4-player network game by a major publisher (Global Conquest, Microprose, 92). The best known titles were: Command HQ (Microprose, '90), Seven Cities of Gold (Electronic Arts, '84), M.U.L.E. (Electronic Arts, '83) and Computer Quarterback (Strategic Simulations, '79). Hardware platforms included: Sega Genesis, MS-DOS, C64, Atari 800, and Apple II. Various products included: network and modem connections, custom hardware and custom multi-tasking. In total they generated over $8 million in sales and 16 awards, including Computer Gaming World Hall of Fame.
City Management, 1974-1981
Various positions from Industrial Engineer to Assistant City Manager all funded by a National Science Foundation program to bring technology to bear on municipal management problems. Supervised cost-saving studies. Coordinated the introduction of Management by Objective budgeting. Developed other control systems using mathematical modeling and systems simulation.
