Games Info Page: [under construction]
You can find info on games Designed by Dani Bunten Berry that are being revised or updated. The first category of new versions has to do with designs that were done for Mpath/ Mplayer (my current employer/client) and are up for development somewhere. For now the only game currently under development is a remake of Modem Wars ('88 published by EA) for 8 players connected via the internet. The development is being done by a new start-up developer named TimeSink under the product name WarSport (which was the original name I had for it when EA decided "Modem Wars" was more descriptive and hence more marketable). It's currently in early testing. If you get a chance take a look at it, let me know what you think. Try it at /www.warsport.com/ or at /www.mplayer.com/.
I have an unprotected version of the original Modem Wars for the PC that you can download. I apologize for the awful graphics (it was written FOR the C64 and ported to the then new EGA version of the PC) the clunky interface (mice were unusual back then and joysticks jerky) and the modem connection (1200 baud was top of the line). However, the game is still pretty fun I think. To get it to work with a modern modem you have to "dummy it down" so that it has no special features and thinks it's a 1200 baud modem (or that's what I had to do to get it to work). Click to download newmw.exe (a 138K self-extracting zip).
An internet design for M.U.L.E. ('83 published by EA) has been created but as yet no developer has signed up to build it.
Finally, some friends and fans of the original Global Conquest game have fixed bugs and enhanced it a bit and are currently working on a major upgrade to a Win95 version. Check out their "authorized" work at their Global Conquest homepage.
